Diane Rose Comstock

On January 31st, 2023, Diane Rose Comstock suddenly passed away while recovering from surgery in a transitional care facility. Her husband, Tom was with her at the time of her passing.

Diane was married to Thomas Theron Comstock for 35 wonderful years. Together, they built a life they loved for themselves and their children.

Diane was passionate about cooking for people she loved, often making more than was needed so everyone always got plenty. She loved sewing and could sew anything that she imagined including costumes for many church plays. Diane had a true creative spirit that inspired her to create masterpieces out of many different mediums including painting and sculpting. Diane was a master gardener and loved spending summers outside tending her plants. Diane enjoyed fishing, especially with her grandchildren. Diane’s family was the light of her life and the reason she got out of bed every day.

Diane is survived by her Mother, Phyllis Skala; her siblings, Sue (Vern) Colgrove, Jimmy (Charlene) Skala, Clarance Skala, Margie (Joe) Bronczyk, and Karen (Raymond) Auginaush; her husband, Tom Comstock; her children, Tammy (Kyle), Ben (Jessica), Christie (William), Roger (Jowen), Kathy and Theron (Jen); her grandchildren, Cal, Cody, Aysia, Hailey, Makenzie, Brookelynn, Madisen, Jakob, Everett, Zeke, George, Rollie, Tommy and Lou; her great grandchild, Evie. Diane is preceded in death by her beloved father, James Frank Skala.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at Dare’s Funeral Home in Elk River, 805 Main St. NW Elk River, Minnesota. A time to view pictures will start at 2pm with the service starting at 3pm.
