Age 54, loving mother of three, and adoring wife to husband Joseph Thielen, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022, after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. Through lots of uncertain cancer results and complications Dawn always stayed positive and hopeful that we could beat the cancer.
Dawn was born in 1968 in California to her mother Lorraine Andersen and father Jeffrey Andersen. She grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Hopkins High School. She had 1 brother, 2 half siblings, lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She met her husband Joe in 1988 playing Uno one evening till the sun came up and they fell in love instantly. After being married in 1989 they ended up in Maple Grove and started a family. Dawn loved working at jobs that involved interacting with customers, like her many years at Davanni’s and last working at the Billings, Montana and Princeton, Minnesota Walmarts. Dawn grew up loving animals. Dawn wanted to be able to share her love of animals with her children so they eventually moved to a small hobby farm in Zimmerman. There she was able to bring all the fun, joy and knowledge to her family with lots of animals and sharing in activities through the Sherburne County 4H.
