Dale Edward Carlson

62, of Elk River MN, passed away unexpectedly on November 17th, 2022 surrounded by family.

Dale was born on July 9th, 1960 in Owatonna, MN. Son of Carroll and Beverly (Etzen) Carlson. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1978, where he was known as Froggy. Dale met Anne Knutson in high school and they later married in 1983. They had three children: Megan, Molly and Max who he referred to as his three M&Ms. 

Dale, cherished spending time with family and friends. Some of his greatest pastimes involved fishing, hunting, shining and driving his original Smokey and the Bandit Trans AM car, bonfires and grilling in the neighborhood cul de sac, in which he raised his family. 

His family will forever miss his smile, sense of humor, giving heart, big hugs, and the belly laugh you could hear from across the room; but most of all, we will miss the love he had for his children and grandchildren.

Dale is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Megan (Andrew) Stevens, Molly (Alex) Fischer, and Max Carlson; grandchildren, Isabel Stevens, Weston and Carter Fischer; siblings, Debra Mueller, Dean (Debbie) Carlson, and twin sister Doris (Randy) Young; sisters-in-law, Lisa (Mark) Baloun, Tammy (Jim) Waalk, and Joy (Aaron) Keopple. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends and his dog Henry.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Beverly Carlson; brother, Dennis Carlson; and brother-in-law, Joseph Mueller.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29th, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Dare's Funeral & Cremation Services, 805 Main Street NW, Elk River, MN.
