Age 96, of Otsego, MN died peacefully at home on October 1, 2019. She was born on June 11, 1923 in East Bethel, MN to Benjamin and Blenda (Henrikson) Dougherty; the 6th of 10 children.
She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for the company, Ed’s Excavating, that she and her husband owned in Zimmerman, MN.
She was preceded in death by husband, Edwin; stepson, Leslie; 1st husband, Floyd Gerdin; one great grandson, Aaron Nelson; brothers, Lloyd and Dennis; sisters, Lois French, Pauline Sharp, Carol Berg, Ione Dumas, Ruby Martin, and Norma Stone.
Her survivors are sons, Bruce (Donna) Gerdin of Oakton, VA and Bryan (Linda) Gerdin of Columbia Heights, MN; daughters, Diane (Tom) Bjorklund of Maplewood, MN, Bonita (Chuck) Ames of New Brighton, MN, Julie (Lee) Goenner of Oak Park, MN, Melanie (Scott) Grupa of Otsego, MN; stepdaughter, Tammy Stier of Boulder, CO; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mavis Guelker of Picayune, MS.
A Celebration of Theda’s life will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Elk River Methodist Church, 1304 Main Street, Elk River, with a visitation starting at 10:00AM.
