COVID-19
We have been monitoring all developments and recommendations from Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health in response to the Coronavirus. We will be following guidelines and recommended procedures for our staff and the public to follow. We will continue monitoring any new developments and implementing the appropriate procedures for any new guidelines.

-Wash hands often with soap and water
-Cover mouth when coughing or sneezing
-Do not shake hands, maintain a social distance of 6 feet
-Avoid touching face
-Stay at home and avoid contact with others
The best way we can help minimize the spread of COVID-19 is to follow the highly recommended guidelines set forth by the CDC, Minnesota Dept. of Health, Minnesota State Government, and affiliated health officials. We request public patience and understanding as we decide how best to minimize public interaction and spread of COVID-19. Be safe. All updates of information will be shared on our website.

More than 100 years ago, the Dare family of Elk River began a tradition of quality funeral care. A tradition forged in respect, dignity, compassion, and friendship for those we serve.
In 1894, Robert E. Dare managed the Baltzell Furniture business and from this he began the Dare Funeral Service. At that time caskets were made in furniture stores and the funeral business was a natural addition. Three generations of the Dare family have kept the Funeral Service going. Overcoming three fires and several locations, including Railroad Drive, Jackson Avenue, and Main Street. Donald A. Dare continued the Funeral Business in 1955. Robert G. (Grip) Dare, third generation, then took the reins in 1959.
A new funeral home was built in 1965 at the present location with an extensive remodeling project completed in 1996 and in 2012. The remodeling was done in response to the needs of the growing area and to meet the objectives of the local business community to provide the Elk River area with a complete range of quality local services and resources.
The mission has been to create a true community based funeral home welcoming people of all denominations, nationalities, races, and financial means.
We continue that mission by maintaining the largest and most experienced staff serving the North Suburban area. Our experience and resources allow us to go beyond just the basics of funeral care to provide an unparalleled range of services and attention to detail.
